Jed Diamond, PhD, LCSW
Jed is Director of MenAlive, a health program that helps men live long and well. Though focused on men’s health, MenAlive is also for women who care about the health of the men in their lives. Since its inception in 1992, Jed has been on the Board of Advisors of the Men’s Health Network. He is also a member of the International Society for the Study of the Aging Male and serves as a member of the International Scientific Board of the World Congress on Men’s Health.
Diamond has been a licensed psychotherapist for over 43 years and is the author of seven books, including the international best-sellers Male Menopause and Surviving Male Menopause (Sourcebooks, 2000), which have been translated into 32 foreign languages, and the newly-released The Irritable Male Syndrome: Understanding and Managing the 4 Key Causes of Depression and Aggression. Diamond has also written numerous booklets, e-booklets, audio, and video programs. His forthcoming book, After The Crash: How to Survive and Thrive When the Ship of Civilization Sinks, will be the first book to offer a convincing argument that the collapse of our unsustainable system is imminent, provide an alternative vision of how we can live, and give specific guidance to help people make the transition to the world of the future.
He has taught classes at U.C. Berkeley, U.C.L.A., J.F.K. University, Esalen Institute, The Omega Institute, and other centers of education throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe.
His PhD dissertation, Gender and Depression, broke new ground in creating a better evaluation system for diagnosing and treating depression in men and women.
